Disney Day 2 - Animal Kingdom

Here are some pictures from Day 2. We went to Animal Kingdom. We started with Kilimanjaro Safaris. That was pretty neat. Since we got there as the park opened and it was raining a little we got right on. We then tackled Expedition Everest. This was Bailey's first roller coaster. She loved it so much Beth took her on it again. We then did "A bug's life" which I very surprised by. It was nice. One thing I wish I could get back was "Finding Nemo - The Musical". To me it wasn't worth the time. On the other hand, "Festival of the Lion King" was well worth the wait and time. For dinner that night we went to Boma. Boma was pretty cool. I just can't imagine spending over $30 per adult for a buffet. It was in the dining plan that we  had but we still had to fork over almost $50 in tips that night. Crazy for dinner I know but what are you going to do?

Disney Day 1

Here is a little journal of Day 1 of our Disney World vacation.

It all started with our plane being delayed for approx. 3 hours. We finally got to check in our Hotel at midnight. We stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside resort. The resort was beautiful and huge!

After going to bed well after 2AM we got up around 9ish and hit the pool by 9:30am. It was beautiful outside. The high that day (Wednesday) was around 85 degrees.

After swimming we went back to the room and got showered up for the day. We took a watertaxi to Downtown Disney. There we ate at Captain Jacks for lunch. Being at Downtown Disney we had to do some shopping.

We then left and went back to the room for naps. With the 2 youngest kids sleeping I took Bailey to the big pool with the water slide. She loved it.

Later that evening we went to the food court to eat and where we found Bob Jackson in the lounge (kid friendly) playing the piano and singing. He was great. It was a ton of fun.

Heck of a week

What a week. We got home from Disney on Wednesday. Disney was nice, I will post more about that later, but it ended very badly. On Monday night while we were at dinner, Bryson (2 yr old son) decide he needed to throw up at the dinner table. So I left Epcot with him and went back to the hotel. He of course threw up on me on the bus about 5 minutes from the hotel. He then decided to throw up for the next couple of hours on the half hour.

Tuesday morning was better, we went to breakfast and he ate and kept it down. We had a nice day at Sea World. The weather was perfect. We were at the 7:30 PM Dolphin show when Bryson decided to throw up on me again during the end of the show. That pretty much ended his vomiting that night. We had a lot of packing to do when we got back to the hotel since bell hop was coming at 7:50 am to pick up or checked luggage. By the time we got to bed it was around 1:15ish am.

At around 2:30ish am Bailey (the 6 year old) decides she need to throw up. After a few more vomiting instances we got her cleaned up and back to bed. Wouldn't you know it, but about 2-5 minutes after getting back to bed Bella (the 4 year old) decided she needed to throw up. Bella wasn't as nice though. She threw up all in her just washed hair and clean bed. Nothing better than giving a 4yr old a bath at 3AM. It is also pretty nice to have to call for house keeping to replace all the sheets on the bed also.

Well it is almost 4AM and 6:30 AM is coming close.

Sure thing, 6:30 AM did come way too soon.

Nothing better than flying with 3 sick kids oh and Beth (the wife) decide she needed to throw up too. That sure was nice of her. Bella threw up one more time after we got off the bus at the airport.

So we get on the plane and get in the air. Only 2 more hours until we are back in C-bus. Well about 1/2 hour before we land Bryson decides to have a #2 in his diaper. Not good. Bella then decides to throw up in the plane with about 10 minutes left in the air. Dad got soaked with vomit again. Come find out Bryson had a verrrrrrry bad blow out. Put it this way, it took us an hour to get from the gate to luggage. The was not fun at all.

Don't worry, I'm not close to being done.

Thursday and Friday were not too bad except some diarrhea. Well then comes Saturday. We were woken up around 5ish AM with Bailey throwing up. She continued this until about 4PM. Fun stuff. Don't worry, I'm not done yet. Bryson decide to continue to have diarrhea but on top of that he decided not to eat or drink anything. So we got a little concerned and decided to take him to Children's Hospital. Well from 5PM to 1AM we were in the ER with a stop to x-ray and ultrasound. Around 6ish he got an IV. Well they didn't like his progression so they admitted him. We didn't get home until 1:30 PM on Monday.

I'm not even going to get in the fact that I got sick while with my sick son at the Hospital.

Well it is going late and I need to tackle the raccoons in my attic early tomorrow. Talk to you later.

Introducing you Season 7 American Idol Winner

Good News

Good News...
Two simple words. Generally we don't here it enough. We really don't focus on it at all. All of our focus goes towards bad news. I'm getting a little burned out on bad news. I want to hear some good news. If you have any good news and you are willing to share, please share with us.

I have good news, we got a Wii yesterday. It is way too sweet!

Tornado

I just want to ask for prayers from anyone that reads this and wishes to do this. My mother lives in Lafayette Tennessee. Lafayette was the worst hit city in the tornado's. She is fine and did not receive any damage to her house. Many in her town and her husbands family did not pan out so well. My step-dad's family was effected. His nephew no longer has a home. It was completely destroyed. The town still doesn't have power so a lot of the people that freeze meat and vegetables may be at a large loss for the food supply the so depend on. My step-dad is doing all he can to help out the people he know by taking a generator over and recharge their freezers so they don't loose all of that food. He is only one person and can't do it all. Please pray for the people that lost family and also for the ones that lost their homes.

Thank you

Misc. Tuesday

It has been a couple days since I last spoke. I am brewing up something special I'm just not finished with it yet. Until then here are some random things.

Super Tuesday - Lord help us all. (no more politics, I promise)

1 Week from today my daughter Bailey turns 6 and my son Bryson turns 2.

It's February, it's 60 degrees and it was lightening this morning. Go figure.

Bobby Knight retired yesterday.

Unless you live under a rock, the New York Giants won the Superbowl. My friend Aaron predicted it. I knew he would be eventually right with a prediction.

6 Weeks until my family leaves for Disney.

Michael Jordan can't afford a concrete driveway. (see dirtonit.com "It's Rivalry Week")

My friend Aaron was talking about his 100,000 hit today, well, I have 100 so there. (does it count if half of them are hits from me?)

Have a great day and feel free to leave a comment.

Man-crush

In leu of the super bowl this weekend I will admit something. I'm coming out of the closet. I have a man-crush on Peyton Manning. Maybe it's because he is a great quarterback. Maybe it's because he is on a great football team (The Colts if you live under a rock). Maybe it's because I have a Peyton Manning 12 month calendar posted right next to my computer at work and my co-works give me grief about having a man-crush on him. Maybe it's because he is a pretty good person and doesn't get into trouble. Maybe, just maybe, he is the best TV commercial spokesman out there today. To all of my slightly larger friends out there, this ones for you!

Friend Part Deux

My first follow up blog. Eventually I will stop saying "My first". I promise.

Getting back to the point. I just wanted to follow up with the importance of a friend. I had lunch today with my friend Aaron and let me tell you it was nice. It was nice to talk and be heard and also to be spoken to and listen. I am ashamed to say this but it was my first lunch with someone other than a family member or a co-worker since I moved to Ohio over 4 1/2 years ago. I guess I didn't realize how important it truly is. Thanks Aaron.

My oldest daughter Bailey and I will be at our monthly All Pro Dads breakfast. If you live around the Hilliard, Ohio area please stop by. It is a great time. I know this focuses on Dads and their children but who know, maybe I will meet a new friend.

Welcome Arms Wide Open Guests

See what Aaron did. He sent you here. Now what?

Well, I'm not sure. I'll have some family stuff. I will reflect on my feelings. (did I really just say that?) We will talk some sports. (Tiger, Cubs, Colts in no particular order) I love people getting hurt videos so there will be some of them. I will leave the 80's stuff to Aaron because he is so good at that and I don't want to plagiarize he great works.

Most of the time I am not serious so please don't take offense to things I say. I'm here to have fun with this and share a little of me along the way. Plus I'm over 30 now so my memory is starting to leave me so this is kind of a Journal also.

Bon Appétit

Friend

Friend... The word friend means:
  1. A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
  2. A person whom one knows; an acquaintance.
  3. A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause, a comrade.
  4. One who supports, sympathizes with, or patronizes a group, cause, or movement.
This is the dictionary terms of the word friend. These sound good. Why is it take until you get to #4 to start getting somewhere. I think the word FRIEND is very overused. I think we all have a lot of acquaintances but not a lot of FRIENDS. A friend is someone you can share your feelings with without worrying about them telling other mutual acquaintances what you said. Someone that will also share the same with you.

In my life my wife is my best friend. This is one big reason why our marriage works so well. Problem is I (we) need more. We need different opinions. We need different point of views. We need to feel that someone is going through exactly what we are going through even though we feel like we are alone.

For example: some days it seems like my kids are the most misbehaved children in the world and we wonder why other children, for example, Bill and Jan's (insert name here) kids are always well behaved and never act up. I know it isn't true but wouldn't it help me out if I heard that from Bill that his kids are not perfect. Probably!

I think we all need a couple true friends. I never realized that until recent. I'm searching for some so if you need another friend your not alone.

I'm not sure I made any sense with this blog but I'm working on it and will be better one day.

A baby's laugh

I had to post this. It was just too darn cute.

Knee Slappin' Friday

I don't know what it is about people getting hurt but I can't help but laughing so hard I can't breath.

Have fun with this!

Fun TV Commercials

At my house we do some untypical things. For instance, when mom is away the kids and I play. We put on GAC or some on demand music videos and rock out. They love it and it is a ton of fun. We have one of those entertainment systems with a powered subwoofer and it just thumps. A lot of fat burning is going on. Well, around Christmas we DVR'd "The Incredibles" and with that comes the commercials. There is one commercial in particular that we never fast forward. My kids just love it.

Weekend Wrapup

COLD!
I guess by my first word it was a little cold this weekend. You know it's cold when you breathe out of your nose and you see steam streaming out. I guess it could of been worse like Minnesota. They woke up to -11 degrees. Ouch!

Other news: The puppy that my wife got on Thursday is doing well. She is a pretty good dog. (Hey look, my first image)

The cold weather had me do something we don't do a lot at home. We had a fire. Saturday night was very nice. I had a roaring fire going. The kids just love when we have a fire. The entire evening consisted of being in the back living room (where there is NO TV) and just enjoying one another. It was a very nice night. The kids wanted to turn off all the lights so they could color in front of the fire. I sure hope I can remember how nice it is to have nights like that.

Well the Superbowl is set. New England vs. The Giants

I'm not too excited since my Colts got taken out last week. That being said, Go Giants!

Hello!

Greetings,
I need you to bear with me since I am very new to this and this is my very first post. I have been wanting to do this for awhile so I guess this is the perfect time. First of all I would like to introduce myself. My name is Brian. I am 31 years old and live in Columbus, Ohio. I will answer your first question and the answer is no, I am NOT a buckeye fan. I lived in Indiana for 27 years. I cannot tell you where my posts will consist of because I guess I'm just not that detailed and outlined. One thing I do know is there will be a lot about sports and my family. I have a lovely wife and 3 children (2 girls and 1 boy). I would say they are the 3 most beautiful children in the world but that is a given since I am their father so I will not bore you all with that because your children are the most beautiful to you and that is how it should be. I will not bore you on the accomplishments that my children make but I'm sure I will sneak them in there. Who am I kidding, heck yes I will bore you with that. But anyway... lets see where this journey takes me. And no pun intended to my new church Journey Church. Anyway this is a start...
